Florida Gov. Charlie Crist has declared Saturday, September 20, 2008 as Florida Lighthouse Day. Stay tuned for more information on how this special day will be observed at the Cape St. George Light.

Oyster Spat Festival
The 3rd Annual Oyster Spat Festival will be held over Columbus Day weekend on St. George Island. The festival features a parade, music, food, a foot race, fishing tournament, and other activities. SGLA will once again be cooking and selling Chef Lisle's fabulous Red Beans & Rice, which has been a big hit and money-maker for us at the previous Oyster Spat Festivals!

FLA Meeting in Franklin County
The St. George Lighthouse Association and the Carrabelle Lighthouse Association will co-host the fall meeting of the Florida Lighthouse Association. The meeting will be held at the Eastpoint Fire House, with visits to Cape St. George Light and Crooked River Light highlighting the day!
