Tour weekend began with a kick-off event on Friday, February 8, featuring refreshments, door prizes, and a special presentation by Chris Smith, Chief Meteorologist, WJHG-TV. This event, which is free for Tour of Homes ticket holders and $5.00 for others, was held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Jay Abbott Firehouse, 324 East Pine Avenue, St. George Island. You can read Chris Smith's bio at the following link Chris Smith Meteorologist Bio and visit WJHG News Station.
Thanks to Chris Smith for this fantastic presentation on Hurricane Michael. This pre tour social was our biggest yet with the firehouse filled to capacity as guests enjoyed the science and numbers behind Hurricane Michael and the personal stories shared by Chris.
The Plantation Clubhouse was host to a winter art show on the 2nd floor of the clubhouse; Multi-Media Expressions in Art. This exhibit features the work of fabric artists, Judy Ehrhardt and Jane Broaddus and cut paper art of Beth Appleton. Also featured will be the winners of the 5th Grade Tag Art contest sponsored by Franklin County Tax Collector, Rick Watson.
Thanks to all the homeowners that opened their homes to this annual fundraising event for the Cape St. George Lighthouse.
