The Plantation Clubhouse area, styled in coastal vernacular, is the business and social hub of the 1.200-acre gated community on the West end of the island. A 10,000-square foot main building, with wide breezy porches on the first and second floors, overlook the beautiful Gulf of Mexico and the 103,000-gallon swimming pool. The Plantation Room on the second floor offers a large meeting area for owner gatherings, aerobics and fitness classes, seminars, and wedding receptions. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building and pool area, allowing teleconferencing for business meetings or just lounging by the pool.
The walls of the Cypress Room located on the first floor show off the local pecky cypress that was removed from the original clubhouse and finished out for a cozy atmosphere as owner hold regular card parties and smaller events.
The Fitness Center on the first floor is equipped with various exercise equipment and free weights, and is open 24 hours a day for owners and their guests to stay in shape without having to leave the island.
The decks around the pool and porches have large urns full of seasonal flowers that contribute to the elegant yet relaxed atmosphere and the pool house area includes an open porch for poolside parties, restrooms and picnic tables. Located next to the Clubhouse is one of three tennis courts with a large gazebo for spectator viewing of annual tournaments. The tennis court located across from the Plantation Firehouse also serves as the newest owner sport, Pickle Ball.
On display in the 2nd floor Plantation Room will be photography by Charlie Sawyer and paintings by Debra and Randy Brienen.
