St. George Plantation Clubhouse
The Plantation Clubhouse complex, styled in coastal vernacular, is the business and social hub of the 1,200 acre gated community on the West end of the island. A 10,000-square foot main building, with wide breezy porches, features a large meeting area for owner gatherings, aerobics and fitness classes, seminars, and wedding receptions. Wi-Fi is available throughout, allowing teleconferencing for business meetings. The more intimate Cypress Room, with pecky cypress walls, serves smaller events and regular card parties. A fitness center, equipped with exercise equipment and free weights, lets residents stay in shape without leaving the island. On the deck of the beautiful pool, large urns of seasonal flowers contribute to the elegant but casual atmosphere. The pool house includes an area for poolside parties. Within the complex, there are 2 tennis courts and a pickle ball court with the main tennis court sharing a large gazebo as the host site for annual tournaments.
The 2nd floor of the Clubhouse will be featuring the winter art show; Multi-Media Expression in Art featuring the work of fabric artists, Judy Ehrhardt and Jane Broaddus and cut paper art of Beth Appleton. The displays will also include the winners of the 5th grade Tag Art contest sponsored by Franklin County Tax Collector, Rick Watson.
