Virtual Full Moon Climb – Sturgeon Moon – 8:00pm-8:30pm
August 2, 2020
Virtual sunset/full moon climb – Sunday, 8/2 from 8:00pm-8:30pm (weather permitting – if it’s not too cloudy or rainy) we’ll be going live from the top of the lighthouse for a virtual sunset/full moon climb. We hope you’ll join us on Facebook for the fantastic views of the Sturgeon Moon. The August full moon is called the Sturgeon moon because sturgeon, large fish common to the Great Lakes and other large bodies of water, are most readily caught in August. Full Moon names are attributable to native American tribes, most notably the Algonquin, who named the moons to mark the changing seasons.
